School Information
Chesapeake High School is one of 12 high schools serving Anne Arundel County. It is a comprehensive public high school offering college preparatory, business, special and technical programs. Approximately 70% of the graduating seniors continue on with post secondary education.
The school year consists of two semesters, each 18 weeks in length, with two quarter marking periods per semester of nine weeks in length. All classes meet daily for 85 or 90 minutes, with 1 credit awarded per semester for each course successfully completed.
Normal school hours are 7:17 a.m. through 1:55 p.m. The school switchboard opens at 7 a.m. and secures at 3 p.m. Summer office hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Chesapeake High School attendance area incorporates several suburban residential areas which are located within commuting distance to the metropolitan regions of Annapolis, Baltimore, and Washington D.C. Much of the population is comprised of middle income families.
