Archbishop Spalding High School was founded in 1966 by His Eminence Lawrence Cardinal Shehan to serve the needs of students in the greater Annapolis, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. areas as a school of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Spalding offers students a strong academic program in a friendly, small school atmosphere. Located in northern Anne Arundel County off Interstate 97 in Severn, Maryland, the school is housed in an outstanding physical plant on a 25-acre campus.
Spalding offers students a challenging college preparatory curriculum balanced with a wide variety of co-curricular activities and athletic opportunities to help students prepare for the challenges of the 21st century. Over 98% of Spalding graduates pursue higher education attending all four service academies, Notre Dame, Princeton, Yale, Loyola, Johns Hopkins, the University of North Carolina and many other prestigious colleges and universities.
Archbishop Spalding High School is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and approved by the Maryland State Department of Education. Spalding is a member of the Association of Independent Maryland Schools.
